Zomblatt Alliance Announces APLjs - A Productivity Breakthrough

SAN MATEO, CA (April 19, 2012) - The Zomblatt Alliance is proud to announce that Zomblatt now covers the entire software development process by creating a new programming language, purpose-built to fit the world of Zomblatt. “Let’s face it”, says Ted M. Young, author of the Official Zomblatt Guide, “much of the difficulty in software development is with the code. If we could simply implement features faster, we’d be more productive and deliver software faster. It’s that simple.”

Ted goes on to say, “We’ve noticed an inverse relationship between the availability of ‘typing’ classes in school with the size of failed or late software development projects. Based on this new research, we’ve come to a startling conclusion: that the majority of coders and testers don’t know how to type very well, and this is causing a decrease in productivity. We thought the only way to solve this problem is by coming up with a new programming and testing language, one that is concise, but also can take advantage of existing framework libraries. So we’ve taken the most concise language we know, APL, and combined it with JavaScript to become APLjs: an APL implementation that compiles down to JavaScript and runs on Node.js.”

Coders, testers, and even business analysts, product managers, and project managers can now take advantage of the thousands upon thousands of widely varied JavaScript libraries to build their Enterprise-strength applications. APLjs is very similar to languages such as CoffeeScript and ClojureScript, which take streamlined languages and translate them into JavaScript. But none of those languages have the conciseness of APL, a language that fits the needs of Enterprises exceedingly well. For example, if one wants to represent a situation where you have 6 salespeople, in 3 different regions, selling 4 different products, APLjs can do that in one short line of code.

Due to the special character set required by APLjs, that example code can’t be reproduced in this press release, but the Zomblatt Alliance has addressed that problem for users by providing custom Zomblatt APLjs fonts, and special APLjs keyboards. The “Zomblatt Guide” will be updated to include information about this productivity breakthrough.
